A DREAM COME TRUE!

Writer: Carrie SnodgrassCarrie Snodgrass

I always knew that I wanted to eventually run my own yoga studio. Its something that my husband alwayys knew would happen too. Except he really really believed it. I was told over and over, from him, friends, family, and strangers even, especially after finally being able to go to Yoga teacher training school. I knew it was in the cards eventually, but, I always shrugged it off...of course.

I have always been the "glass half empty" type person. You know, "never count your chickens till they hatch". orrr. just Murphy's Law in general. So, the thought of being in control of my own thing, not even a year after getting my credentials, just didn't stick long in my brain, when I did think about it.

I had mentioned in my last blog "about me", how I was not even practicing yoga after I had graduated in November, and then, soon after, I quit my position at another studio teaching in January. Well, March had come and so did COVID-19. At that time, I had been working as a waitress at a breakfast cafe. March 15th was the last day I worked at the cafe. I did go back for 2 weekends, later on a few months later, but I soon realized that I was ready to get out of the restaurant life. It happened so fast, and it was scary how it all ended. I was happy one min, and the next, my world seemed lost again. I was not sure what I wanted to do. And, Honestly, I never even thought of looking into something Yoga/fitness related, because I was/am content with working my Beachbody business. I had a small team of friends. I had my Nutrition plans, I had my accountability groups. I stay motivated. It made me happy and that is what I planned to do.

I needed a job though. I felt like I needed to get out of the house and talk to people. I needed a social life.

I was scrolling through Facebook. We all know that numb scroll, that happens all too often.

I saw a post. A coffee Shop. In the town over from me!

And so, if you know me. This is what seemed to be perfect!!

Rewind 2 years ago.

I was Shift Supervisor of the Starbucks in my town! I loved it!

So... Not only was this job up my ally, but learning about different coffees & techniques was new and exciting, and my hubs had always wanted to own a coffee shop!!!!! So. I immediately applied!

I got the interview!

I love how this played out.

So I get to the interview. The coffee shop was awesome. In a small diamond in the rough town. Olld building. It smelled soooo good! I was so excited. Once the interview started. We almost right away went into the "ice breaker" part, you can say.

I had a crate. It was filled with arts & crafts things. All kinds of things. Construction paper, glue, beads, bendy straw thingys.

The goal was. To look through this crate and come up with whatever it was I wanted to craft up to basically show who and what I represent as a person. Once that is done. To explain the masterpiece.

This seemed fun. So, he gives me 5 mins and walks away!

I'm zooming through this in my mind. I know what I am planning. 5 mins went fast and he was back!

This was my creation! =)

Peace, Love, Happiness.

My explanation. Not exact words of course, but the main part.

Peace- I used different color stones to represent the different chakras in our body (these colors aren't chosen to be correct, just wanted to make sure I had multi-colors.)

I truly believe in being peaceful within yourself and showing that into the world.

Love- I used RED. Love yourself and others. This is hard but always something I am working on every single day.

Happiness- I used a Gold shiny smile. Be happy, Its contagious!!

The interview went on. It was nice conversation. We got to talking more. He (owner, Marty) had noticed that my real passion was yoga, and that my ultimate goal was to teach. We had conversation going about this. And then, in the middle of the interview he stops.

He tells me that he doesn't want to defer me from this job but, the lady that has a studio about him, had been looking for a yoga teacher.

To be honest, at the time, it never even dawned on me that they needed a YOGA TEACHER.

I left the interview that day feeling good. Things were happening.

That day, I got a call about coming to look at the studio! That DAY!!!!

My husband and I went back to the studio and I had a meeting. After that meeting, the next day.. I had another meeting. After that it was meeting after meeting, idea after idea, and after less than 2 weeks later, I was signing my contract on my new YOGA STUDIO space!!!

=)

I still can not believe how this happened. It all seemed to have played out perfectly. It all happened so fast, yet for them, they had been looking for someone like me for years! How crazy how we fell into each other's lives this way.

Go check out 12 stories coffee! They have a wonderful yummy menu & it feels so good to hang out.

Also, look up The Ville Studio to book your next appointment for a natural light studio. Photography, showers, get togethers!

Take advantage of all the new businesses and ideas coming to Farmersville, TX!

So excited for this opportunity!

LOVE

Carrie. =)
